11.17.2011 Energy Management Systems Sponsoring 34th Annual Brian’s Run EMS is proud to sponsor Brian’s Run for a second year in a row. This year’s run takes place on Sunday, December 4th and  benefits Homes for Our Troops, an organization that makes wounded Veterans’ homes handicap accessible. In addition to being an event sponsor, EMS is also covering the registration fees for any employee who wishes to participate in the run.The main event, a 5 mile race, begins at 1PM at Henderson High School, 400 Montgomery Avenue, in West Chester PA. 11.01.2011 EMS Trade Organization Memberships: BOMA, NAA & ICSC Energy Management Systems is currently a member of three trade organizations: Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and  National Apartment Association (NAA). BOMA has 16,500 members who own or manager more than 9 billion square feet of commercial properties. BOMA’s mission is to enhance human, intellectual and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry through  advocacy,  education, research standards and information.

NAA, America’s leading advocate for quality rental housing, serves the interests of multifamily housing owners, managers, developers and suppliers, and is dedicated to maintaining  a high level of professionalism in the multifamily housing industry in order to better serve the housing needs of the public.
 
International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), is a global trade association of the shopping center industry. ICSC members include owners, developers, managers, and marketing specialists associated with the shopping center industry. Karl Hawkins of EMS Consulting & Martha Voltz, of EMS Procurement Services  have attended ICSC breakfast lectures with such notable speakers as Leo S. Ullman, CEO of Cedar Shopping Centers.

10.01.2011 New Rates and Regulations Blog   EMS has launched a new Rates and Regulations blog to make sure clients and EMS staff stay current with the ever changing utility rates and regulations. Hundreds of different municipalities and utility companies are monitored on a daily basis so EMS can be a viable resource for anyone wanting to know more about utility regulations, and why drastic changes sometimes occur with utility rates. 05.19.2011 EMS attends Lightfair International Leviton Metering Services invited Joe Brnich, Andrew Marrow and Gregg Voltz of EMS to attend the 22nd consecutive edition of Lightfair International(LFI).  LFI is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show.  General Electric, Philips, and Siemens were among 474 exhibitors at event, which was held at Philadelphia’s  Pennsylvania Convention Center.  Over 23,709 attendees representing 75 nations attended. EMS  enjoyed reviewing all  the  state-of -the art lighting  technology and design innovations that were on display. For more information on LFI, visit www.lightfair.com.

03.31.2011 EMS Participates in the NJ/PA Sustainability Symposium Martha Voltz, of EMS’s energy procurement services, joined with public officials, business and community leaders, and university professors at the NJ/PA Sustainability Symposium at Rutgers University’s Camden Campus. About one hundred and fifty attended the March 31, 2011 symposium. The event highlighted regional cutting edge technological advances such as the Navy Yard’s innovation hub, the east coast roll out of the electric car, deregulation in Pennsylvania, New Jersey’s leadership in solar energy and wind power at the shore, and developments in waste management and recycling. In addition, the symposium also focused on aspects of regional planning, funding opportunities, community involvement and how businesses, universities, hospitals, and municipalities will engage and execute their sustainability plans in 2011. Martha explained that the symposium was a “fantastic opportunity to obtain information from top policy makers involved with energy conservation. I gained a lot of insight on the direction that technology and legislation is heading  for the energy future”

 03.30.2011 EMS hosts Leviton Metering Solutions EMS hosted a meeting with representatives from Leviton Integrated Metering Systems. Leviton recently announced a strategic alliance with Obvius, a provider of solutions for collecting energy information, and EFT Energy, a supplier of enterprise energy monitoring and supporting software. The alliance has enabled Leviton to offer its customers the most complete line of submetering and energy management products with the ability to generate comprehensive reports and energy use information. EMS’s service department is currently evaluating an assortment of products provided by Leviton.

 03.18.2011 EMS Launches new web site After much work, Energy Management Systems is pleased to announce the unveiling of our new website, www.EMS3.com (you are here right now). The new website contains much information about the history and growth of EMS over the last 30 years, as well as detailed descriptions of the many products and services that EMS currently offers. We plan on updating the website with useful information for our clients on such topics as the impact of changing utility rates, how to take advantage of energy procurement in deregulated states, and the simplest ways to conserve energy and help the environment.
